Nearly Died!

Psalm 91:11

For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

You know how sometimes you can be taught something or hear something over and over but it doesn't really make an impact until you have to utilize it? I grew up in the church. So I've heard lots of sermons. Some of the same stories year after year. In theory, I believed all of it. However, difficulties in life has a way of revealing in us, if we truly believe what we have been taught. The story of Jesus healing the blind man is great, until you need to contend for your health. Shadrach Meshach and Abed Nego being saved in the fire is so amazing, until your stuck in a position that only God can rescue you from. The story of the boy with the fish and loaves of bread is awe inspiring until you have to believe for provision, when you lack the resources. You get what I'm trying to say? We assume we believe what we have accepted as truth, until it is challenged.

Last summer I had the privilege of coaching some students at Fine Arts National competition in Kentucky. I decided brave the 13 hour drive and left early in the morning. Around 10 pm on a dark highway in the middle of no where I experienced a medical emergency. I began to pass out on the highway. About 10 min prior, the Lord prompted a friend to call me. While I was talking to her is when it happened. To this day I fear what would have happened hadn't I been on the phone with her. She talked me to a dark exit where I awaited the paramedics to pick me up. I stayed the night in the hospital. It was one of the most terrifying things I had ever experienced. To have no control of your body is horrific feeling. I found out later others in my same situation had died.

I learned that day the truth of Gods protection. I experienced His Word in action. It solidified in my heart and mind the heart of God in protecting me. It's no longer in words for me, I truly believe God will and wants to protect me.

When we experience a side of God that cant be explained away, we see Him for who He already is. His "Words", these stories become our reality! Which in turn changes the way we walk. What in your life is God challenging you to believe? Not just to believe but put action towards. God is soooo eager for us to believe what He has said and see more deeply into His heart.
